Bae Sharam: My name is Osama and I am alive
21 September
(as part of Glam Slam)
"My name is Osama and I am alive” is a performance piece by Bae Sharam exploring the post-Osama bin Laden world. What happens when the most notorious terrorist of all time emerges back into the modern world and finds himself irrelevant and obsolete? Osama battles with his identity and who he is as he navigates lost friendships, self empowerment and reclaiming his identity.
Bae is an award nominated queer, muslim neo-political performance artist that straps you in for a rocky as fuck ride straight down to "Um, I don’t know if I can laugh at that?". The answer is no, you can’t. But you probably will. And yes, that does make you a bad person.
